Data Sponggy handles
Before you sign in, rooms, chores, schedules, and completion history stay only in Sponggy's local storage on your device. Sponggy does not create a backend account or send that household content to its servers. If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple may provide your name, email address, or Apple private-relay address; Sponggy then stores the account identifier and synchronizes the household content you choose to keep in that Apple-linked profile. A local copy remains on your device for offline use.
How the data is used
We use this information only to provide, secure, synchronize, and support Sponggy. If purchases are enabled, Apple processes the transaction and RevenueCat receives a non-guessable Sponggy profile identifier and purchase status. Sponggy does not sell personal data and does not use third-party advertising trackers.
Storage and deletion
Local-only data cannot be restored on another device and may be lost if you delete Sponggy or lose the device before signing in. After Sign in with Apple, cloud data is stored on infrastructure operated for Sponggy. Sponggy blocks normal sign-out while device changes are still waiting to synchronize or a first-sync home choice is unresolved. Once clean, signing out clears the synchronized local copy but leaves the cloud home available when you sign in again. You can permanently delete your account from Settings → Account & data in the app. Account deletion is explicitly destructive: pending device changes may be discarded. Homes with no other active member are deleted with their rooms, chores, and history. If another active member shares a home, ownership transfers to that member and the shared content remains available to them; your profile and attribution are removed. Local app data is cleared after deletion succeeds. Limited security or transaction records may be retained where required by law.
Your choices
You may use Sponggy locally without an account, choose Sign in with Apple to enable cloud backup and synchronization, sign out, or request account deletion from within the app. If both the device and Apple profile already contain a home, Sponggy asks whether to use the cloud home or upload the device home as a separate cloud home instead of silently merging or overwriting either one. You can also contact us to ask about access, correction, or deletion of personal data.
